Privacy Notice
Effective date: September 8, 2026
TrimSite Audits is operated by Chad Clatterbuck, who is the data controller for the information described here. This notice explains what is collected, why, and how long it is kept.
What we collect
- The website address you submit for scanning.
- The answers you give about your business — what you do, your main services, your goals, and your service area.
- Your email address, when you provide one to receive or recover your audit.
- Payment-related transaction identifiers and status from Paddle, such as the transaction reference and whether it completed, failed, or was refunded.
- Publicly available content from the pages we scan on the website you submit.
- Technical logs and security data needed to run the service, such as IP address, browser identifier, timestamps, and error records.
Payment card details are handled entirely by Paddle. We never see or store your card number, expiry date, or security code.
Why we use it
- To run the scan you asked for and generate your audit.
- To give you access to a paid audit and to help you recover the link to it later.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse of free scans.
- To troubleshoot problems and improve the accuracy and usefulness of the service.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations connected to a sale.
Our legal bases are performing our contract with you (running and delivering your audit), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and improving the product), and compliance with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers we need to operate the service, and only for that purpose:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the website and store audit data.
- The crawling service that fetches the public pages of the website you submit.
- The AI analysis provider that helps turn page content into written findings.
- The email delivery provider used to send audit links, when email is used.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale itself, payments, invoicing, and tax compliance.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, and public authorities where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep audit data for as long as needed to give you access to your report and to support you afterwards. Payment-related records are kept as long as needed to verify purchases, handle refunds, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Security and abuse-prevention logs are kept for a short period only. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, or to withdraw consent where we relied on it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To ask a question or request deletion, email Chad at trimsiteaudits@gmail.com, or reach us through Paddle, which handles customer service for all orders. We may need to keep certain payment records even after a deletion request, where the law requires it.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, restricted access to stored data, and private links for paid audits. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what is needed to make the service work — your browser stores your in-progress scan details so you can move between steps and return to your results. We do not use advertising cookies or sell tracking data.
